I think this week I will go back to the weekly report format I used early on. It was simple, to the point, and most importantly won’t require any creativity on my part. Being creative is not really on the top of my priority list right now.
Yes I understand the irony of creating a blog post detailing my current lack of creativity.
Anyhow, moving on….
The summer that was:
It’s actually been months since I posted a proper weekly report. During most of that time I was healing up. First from an injured knee that I picked up running, later from my accident. Realistically I paid less attention to what I ate than I should have and exercised less than I should have as well.
I did some, but not enough. Now I am actually healthy enough to start getting healthy again. (if that makes any sense)
Well, I finally go around to starting up again. Last week was actually one of the most successful I have had since starting this blog. My primary work out this past week has been going to the pool at my gym. Swimming is a lot more of a workout than it appears. I made it to the gym five days last week, the most of any week since this project started.
I have already been there one day over this past weekend, so this week is looking promising as well.
The only downside? The gym with the pool in it closes a week from today. The newly constructed gym has a pool, too bad it won’t be open till December. It puts me back on the exercise bikes and rowing machines till the end of the year, can’t say I am too happy about that.
I suppose I can’t blame them though, they found a buyer for their old building. In the current real estate market if you find someone willing to pay full price you take it and count your blessings.
I suppose I can call what I have been eating as a diet. Not a good one, but it has been a diet. I have tried to stick with what I know is good for me. I have tried to limit portion sizes (note: if I limit the portion size that means I should not go back for seconds… ) Overall I did fairly well, I just need to pay more attention.
This was a lot harder to do than I thought it would be actually. Knowing I have been essentially a couch potato for the entire summer. (no excuses, I was not too badly hurt to do something) Fortunately I had mentioned last week that I would put out a good report this week. I am many things, but a liar is not one of them.
So I climbed back on the Wii fit and listened to it complain about how long I had been gone. I did the fitness test and listened unhappily as it once again called me obese. Over weight yes, but I don’t consider myself obese.
Anyhow, after allowing my home electronics to call me names I got my result. Somehow through an entire summer of doing nothing, through hamburgers and salads, pasta and brats, pizza and beer, I managed to put on one single solitary pound.
I was sitting at 237 when my bike went down, now I am sitting at 238.
I suppose, all things being equal, I’ll take it.
